David Callanan is an Australian born psychiatrist who founded Child and   Family Psychiatric Center of Southern Oregon in 1997 with the central aim of bringing excellent clinicians together "under one roof". Working together, with their different experiences and specialty trainings, the group now  delivers the very best of outpatient mental health care.

He completed an Adult Psychiatry Residency then a Child/Adolescent Fellowship at the prestigious Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles,California.

   Post-graduate Experience
Immediately before coming to the U.S., Dr Callanan had been the Medical Director of a Wellness Program at a Health Sciences College in Australia. After leaving Cedars-Sinai Hospital in 1993, he became Board certified in both Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry in 1994.
Dr Callanan moved with his wife and kids to the Rogue Valley in 1993. He initially took a position as a Staff Psychiatrist at Rogue Valley Medical Center then founded Child and Family Psychiatric Center in 1997.
