AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION AND INTEREST

Jake is especially interested in working with children and families who are at disproportionate risk for poor developmental outcomes; especially families who are economically disadvantaged and in rural communities of Oregon. More specifically, Jake specializes, and is interested in, applied behavior analysis, early intervention, assessment and intervention efficiency, fidelity of implementation, behavioral parent training, family functioning, school consultation, chronic health condition management, mentoring

at-risk youth, substance abuse prevention, and resiliency. Jake is highly motivated to serve children and families with complex psychosocial profiles and limited access to care. As a result, Jake is motivated and able to deliver services across the state of Oregon through telemedicine (like Skype or FaceTime). Jake is also highly interested in applied clinical research, with experience using both single case and group designs. His research experience spans a number of focal areas, including ADHD diagnostics, college student marijuana use, parent training program effectiveness, efficiency and effectiveness in treatments for autism, consultation models for training paraprofessionals, and program evaluation for mentoring and other programs.
