Hector Aleman

Mr. Aleman believes everyone can reach an optimum state of health. As a therapist, his experience lies in the areas of children, teens and families. He uses a multifaceted approach to identifying, following and unfolding the processes his clients present. His practice uses many methods including Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Systems approach, Bowen’s Family of Origin approach, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Michael Whites’ Narrative Therapy with strong use of the basic principles of Arnold Mindell’s Process Oriented Psychology (modern approach to Jungian Psychology). 

Children will use sand tray, board games, puppets, water color painting, clay sculpturing, collage and play-dough as some of the playful tools to assist in outward expression of their thoughts and feelings. These tools are offered with no pressure added to encourage creativity and rapport; it is important that elements of fun, imagination and creativity are allied together with modalities of treatment to address difficulties. This is a common approach used in play treatment and varieties of art therapies.

In working with families he will open a broader framework to help the family view problems as offering insight or keys to greater family health and happiness. Families will be supported in the discovery of new aspects of themselves and through this growth and change gain a greater sense of well being. I welcome adults, couples and Hispanic clients into my practice.

Mr. Aleman enjoys backpacking, cycling, skiing, visual and performing arts.
